湖南师大外国语学院英语、翻译相关专业研究生，平均绩点3.0以上，经院系和导师推荐，可提出申请，参加对方硕士入学考试（second-year entrance exam）。被录取者可获得奖学金，奖学金每年不低于8000美元。
一年内修满规定学分（30个学分）并符合蒙特雷学位授予相关要求者可获得蒙特雷相应硕士学位。学生返回湖南师大后，完成学位论文，并符合湖南师大学位授予相关要求，可获得湖南师大硕士学位。
1+1 Program Option:
Students from the master’s programs at HNNU who have completed their first year or second year may apply to the advanced entry programs of Translation, Translation and Interpretation, Conference Interpretation and Translation and Localization Management. They will be admitted if they pass the Advanced Entry exams and meet other admission requirements. Admitted students will complete one year of studies at MIIS with a minimum of 30 credits and will be awarded the MA degree upon graduation.
本项目所涉及的蒙特雷硕士学位有：
1. MA in Translation (must pass translation exams in both directions);
2. MA in Translation and Interpretation (must pass exams in translation and consecutive interpretation in both directions);
3. MA in Translation and Localization Management (must pass translation exam from English into Chinese and other degree specific requirements may apply); and
4. MA in Conference Interpretation (must pass exams in translation, consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in both directions).
蒙特雷国际研究学院（Monterey Institute of International Studies [MIIS]）是明德大学（Middlebury College，全美文理学院排名第五）下属的研究生院，下设两个学院，其中高级翻译及语言教育学院（Graduate School of Translation，Interpretation and Language Education [GSTILE]，2009年由高级翻译学院和语言教育学院合并）建于1965年，是世界知名的专业的研究生翻译学院之一，是美国唯一的翻译学院。现有阿英、法英、德英、西英、俄英、汉英、日英和韩英八个专业。各专业有四种硕士课程，分别授予笔译文科硕士、口笔译文科硕士、会议口译文科硕士和笔译/本地化管理硕士学位。
该院是美国翻译家协会和国际翻译家协会的团体会员，国际翻译院校协会成员（CIUTI），其会议口译专业课程的质量在同类院校中属佼佼者，被国际会议口译协会(Association Internationale des Interprètes de Conférence)一类学科。全院现有三十多名教师，也均为实际口笔译工作领域的高手。
该院课程针对社会需求设计，教学内容和实习形式紧密联系学生毕业后的工作实际，注重培养与提高学生口笔译实战能力与即席翻译实践经验。该校毕业生翻译能力过硬，临场经验丰富，在各种大型国际会议与重要国际活动中多有建树，取得了良好的国际声誉与影响。
Admissions Process:
All HNNU applicants are required to meet the admission criteria set by Middlebury and HNNU.
Their grades in all major courses in all semesters must be over 80 or better, with a GPA no less than 3.0.
For applicants of the regular MA programs recommended by the deans of respective schools, the overall performance (academic and extracurricular) in all semesters must be within top 15% of the class.
All applicants must meet the minimum English language scores required by the degree program at MIIS. A TOEFL or IELTS test score is required.
Applicants for Translation, Translation and Interpretation, Conference Interpretation and the Translation and Localization Management must pass the Language Skills Test (LST) of MIIS.
Fees and Scholarship.
All HNNU students enrolling in onsite (not online) master’s degree programs at MIIS will be guaranteed a scholarship in the amount of $8,000 each academic year.
Students are responsible for all costs, including visa fees, tuition, travel costs, accommodation fees, books, health insurance, etc. except the scholarship provided by MIIS.
