The Foreign Studies College at Hunan Normal University, a nationally top-ranked institution for foreign languages and literatures, invites applications for up to 8 open-rank faculty positions at the levels of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. We seek visionary scholars from around the world who are eager to contribute to our dynamic, interdisciplinary community in the following key areas:
l Literature & Digital Humanities: Scholars specializing in traditional or contemporary literary studies with a digital or interdisciplinary focus. We welcome expertise in transnational modernism, postcolonial studies, digital humanities, computational literary analysis, or media and narrative studies. A strong interest in cross-cultural literary dialogue and innovative methodologies is highly valued.
l Linguistics & AI-Driven Language Research: Candidates with research excellence in theoretical, applied, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, or related fields. Preferred specializations include cognitive linguistics, sociolinguistics, AI and NLP applications in language study, multilingualism, or technology-enhanced language education.
l Translation & Cross-cultural Communication Studies: Scholars capable of bridging translation studies with comparative literature, media adaptation, or intercultural communication. Focus areas may include audiovisual translation, technology in translation, cultural mediation, or cross-media storytelling.
l Regional & Global Communication Studies: Researchers engaged in area studies, international communication, media cultures, or global discourse analysis, with an emphasis on digital media, intercultural dialogue, or transnational public spheres.

Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field from an accredited university.
- Strong research profile with publications in recognized international venues.
- Demonstrated teaching ability or potential.
- For senior roles (Associate/Full Professor), a distinguished publication record and academic leadership are required.
- Outstanding candidates may be considered for national/provincial distinguished professor programs.
Appointment Terms:
- Start date: September 2026.
- Renewable contract with competitive, negotiable salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Teaching load adjustable across 3-4 courses per academic year.
